Big League Sports by Activision has created a game that is all about putting players right into the action in the most thrilling situations in their favorite sports.

There are multiple disciplines to master within tennis, basketball, football, soccer, lacrosse and hockey. But unlike other games the focus is not on the team - it's on whether or not you can deliver in specific, adrenaline-pumping moments. Whether it's acing an opponent in tennis, hitting a basketball shot at the buzzer, or bending free kicks around a goalie in soccer, Big League Sports offers a fresh interpretation of what a sports game can be on Wii.

Players can also view their statistics and overall progress, as well as the trophies they have won. A character creation feature allows players to craft a character to their liking with dozens of customization options.

The Social Gaming Network is definitely on to something with these Wii-like iPhone games. They’ve had over 2 million downloads of iGolf and iBowl. And they have just released the next game in the series, iBaseball.

Like the other games it’s free, and you use the accelerometer in your iPhone to control game play. The application includes applause and game sounds, vibrates when a hit is made, and supports the south paws.  You can also challenge your friends to play, asynchronously for now but with direct head-to-head play coming very soon.

I would expect more sports games as well and more iPhone being repaired...
