As an athlete who has had to transition with age, having played soccer most of my life, I am identifying competitive athletic pursuits that I will be able to do for some time. I've been training as a distance runner for the last few years and now am beginning to train as a cyclist as I plan to participate in an EagleMan event next year.
It's easy to go out on your bike in decent weather, but what about when the weather turns? I've found this extraordinary bike, the Trixter X-dream. It goes far beyond the usual job of a simulator. I think we would all agree that an exercise bike is going it's job if it replicates about 50% of the real experience of outdoor cycling. The x-dream surpasses that by a mile.
The experience is enhanced by a large built-in screen producing the illusion of cycling on a variety of trails, from the Arizona desert to the Catskills, which beats my local cycle routes any day.
The machine is compact enough to fit in an apartment or an office (now that's an idea instead of dealing with rush hour traffic). It is as close to real cycling as you can get - you feel all the bumps, the bike tips from side to side and you can race real and virtual competitors.
Just like a real bike it will also work the abs, obliques and all the major muscle groups. Now if it will only help me with my hill work....
